English Shaker Kitchen - Porcelain and Graphite - Rugby, Warwickshire

Our client, having extended the rear of their property, was eager to modernise the kitchen in alignment with the new addition. The kitchen's footprint was to remain the same, but the client wished for a functional space featuring a sturdy work surface to accommodate regular social events.

At Alex Lee Kitchens, we appreciate the careful balance of retaining a space's original footprint while integrating fresh, modern elements. In this project, we were tasked with just that - redesigning an existing space to not only serve practical needs but also harmoniously blend with the newly extended area of the home.

Designer Tip

Design and colour schemes evolve over the course of a project. In this case, the client initially preferred light grey and graphite grey furniture. However, given their desire to maintain the existing flooring, we proposed a combination of porcelain and graphite grey instead.

While this might not be an immediate choice, these colours worked harmoniously together, and the choice facilitated a seamless integration of both the existing elements of the room and the features in the new extension. This illustrates the importance of a flexible approach to design, where decisions are informed by existing conditions as well as aesthetic preferences.

The end result is a modern, practical kitchen that seamlessly ties in with the new extension, highlighting Alex Lee Kitchens' commitment to delivering personalised solutions that fit seamlessly into the existing architectural context.
