English Modern – Bardolino Oak - Kenilworth, Warwickshire

Our client sought to make significant modifications to the rear of their property. Their primary objective was to not only increase the living space but also elevate its aesthetic appeal, ensuring it mirrored the high-quality finish prevalent throughout the rest of their home. They desired a kitchen that would make optimum use of the available space while radiating a modern, neutral, yet warm ambiance.

Design Approach

Tapping into the versatility of traditional English ranges, our designer demonstrated an in-depth product understanding. This enabled them to conceive a design that, while reminiscent of sleek Germanic aesthetics, utilised products that aren't readily available on the European continent. A standout feature was the corner pantry unit - a smart solution to maximise storage without compromising on style.

Another unique touch was the use of ceiling fillers. By employing these, we achieved a custom, seamless appearance, ensuring every inch of space was aesthetically utilised and gave the kitchen a tailor-made look.

Key Features and Inclusions

Kitchen Furniture: Opted for an English slab door finished in a rich Bardolino oak texture, providing both modernity and warmth. The corner pantry unit became an intelligent storage solution, while ceiling fillers ensured a truly bespoke, flush finish.

Work Surface: A resilient Quartz surface was chosen for its durability and elegance, perfectly complementing the oak textures.

Sink and Tap: A traditional Belfast sink was incorporated to add a touch of classic charm, paired with a contemporary tap.

Appliances: High-end appliances were integrated, including AEG matt black ovens, an induction hob, and a dishwasher, ensuring functionality met style. An Elica cooker hood was installed, further adding to the kitchen's modern aesthetics.

Finishing Touches: To bring the entire design together, feature brass finish handles were chosen, striking a balance between contemporary and classic design.

Designer Tip

When designing a kitchen, it's essential to harness the potential of available products. Traditional elements can be combined in innovative ways to achieve a contemporary look, as evidenced by the marriage of English ranges and Germanic design sensibilities in this project. Always prioritise functionality without compromising on style for a kitchen that's both beautiful and efficient.
